The Stag Inn is a traditional and historic pub nestled beneath the East Hill on the edge of Hastings Old Town offering a warm friendly welcome, fine ales, ciders, wines and spirits.

Whilst the building has a Georgian styled facade, parts of the original structure date back to Tudor times. The pub also has a secluded terraced rear garden.

In its time the pub has held historic connections with notorious smuggling gangs and characters from local folklore. The Stag continues to hold strong associations with local traditions such as Jack in the Green, Sussex Bonfire and Carnival as well as being home to regular live music and singing including folk sessions, a weekly Bluegrass night and Sea Shanty singing.

From taking over on 3rd August 2015 we will be unable to offer food initially but over the forthcoming weeks and months we will be undertaking works as necessary to bring the kitchen up to a high standard of functionality and hygiene.

We very much look forward to welcoming friends old and new to this next chapter in the life of The Stag Inn.
