Now part of the small Grumpy Mole chain, this rural pub is on a number of walkers routes and both they are welcome, as are cyclists and horse riders but please remove muddy boots. Most of the pub is given over to restaurant although there may be a couple of tables for drinkers, especially in the afternoon when the main food trade has died down. Food is a strong presence with this available from Monday to Saturday from 12 til 9;30 and Sunday from 12 til 8;30. Afternoon tea is served from 3 til 5 not Sunday. Good views over the surrounding countryside can be had from the garden. A covered veranda with a number of tables has been added at the back. There are car parks either side of the pub. A house beer brewed by Greene King is also available.
