The Golden Cross is a family run bar and Steakhouse. The proprietor, John Murray, has striven to combine tradition with modern day aspirations. So, expect the obvious – Herefordshire Ciders, Traditional Ales, Locally sourced produce. And, the less obvious – fantastic bar and restaurant areas!
 
Those of you familiar with the Golden Cross of old will, like those visiting for the first time, swiss replica watches enter what appears to be a small village pub, only to discover you’ve entered a real life Tardis as the pub opens out before your eyes. 2004 saw the completion of what amounted to a virtual gutting & rebuild of the pub leaving a WOW factor in its wake! Everyone, old & young, able & less able, are catered for, with disabled toilets & baby changing facilities on the ground floor.
 
A large bar area, featuring a stone counter with a huge English Oak top plays host to a fantastic array of drinks. No Herefordshire pub would be complete without a broad selection of locally produced Cider and The Golden Cross is no exception. Traditional Ales sit alongside the Ciders, together with a large choice of leading Lagers.  And, for those who are less inclined to drink alcohol, we have a first class range of leading Soft Drink brands. We are open for food and drink 365 days a year!
 
The Restaurant is situated on the first floor. Spacious and away from the bustle of the Bar, it is furnished with natural materials, soft colours and traditional (original not replica) memorabilia. Our menu’s are always mouth-watering and affordable, changing on a regular basis to reflect the seasons. Our Char-grill menu uses only the best Herefordshire Beef. We never neglect our Vegetarian friends if our menu offering isn’t quite to your liking, tell us what you would like and if we can oblige, we will! We are always happy to welcome parties and gladly discuss personal menu requirements. All our food is locally sourced, where possible. Seasonal produce and game are always to be found on our menus. Whether you eat from our bar menu or restaurant menu, no compromise is made on food quality.
 
The Golden Cross retains traditional pub games and actively supports it’s teams. If you’re looking to get involved in any of these sports, let us know and we’ll gladly introduce you! Pool; We currently have two pool teams  who compete in the Hereford Charity Pool League. League matches are played on a Thursday evening (we have the capacity to welcome additional teams); Darts; A pub wouldn’t be a pub without it’s favourite sport! The Golden Cross currently has a Men’s team. 
 
 The Golden Cross embarked on having live entertainment on Friday nights in mid 2007, it is now a destination venue for those who love live music! Whether If it’s a five piece rock band or a solo female artist, rock to reggae, you’re bound to find it at The Cross.
