Nelson Inn is situated just 1 mile out of town. Sitting on the edge of town this pub has the best of both worlds. It is close to all local amenities but appears to be in the middle of the countryside with its surrounding fields and scenery! Its traditional English pub grub is not only delicious but also extremely reasonably priced!! We were pleasantly surprised at the price, size of portions and the high quality of the food! This pub has got the perfect combination, and we highly recommend that you try it out for yourself! Not only is the food here great, this pub is also big on its beer! The Nelson Inn hosts 2 yearly Beer festivals. The first is at Easter time and the next is in August (see website)! Each Festival has a different theme, so be sure to check with staff what the theme of the next festival is! Live entertainment is always a high point of the festivals with folk band etc. However with 20 different types of beer on offer, it is unlikely that anyone will remember much about the entertainment!! All festivals are held in the stunning courtyard, and children’s festivals are to be held this year also. With a very large car park and full disabled access this bar is easily accessible to all. It is family friendly, although children always leave before nine as a general rule. This fantastic pub really has something to offer all, and you can really get a sense of community spirit here.
