The Bernard Arms is a Village pub situated in Great Kimble, Buckinghamshire. This is an old style pub from the 1930s that is just around the corner from the prime ministers county residence of Chequers and has in fact seen many past and present PMs come round for the odd drink or two. It is also a favourite haunt for walkers and hikers alike, although the ‘No Muddy Boots’ sign at the entrance ensures that the interior is kept fairly clean and tidy. The atmosphere is very warm, and staff are friendly. Really friendly ‘can do’ pub. Very dog and rambler friendly with real fire in winter and large beer garden at rear in summer. Traditional home cooked food is available and all is reasonably priced, open all day at weekends and serves food at lunch times all week. They serve a full selection of draught beers, wine and spirits for your enjoyment along with a range of real ale, which are Admans and London Pride beers, and also a range of soft drinks for all the non-drinkers and drivers. The pub is quite a quaint old world styled type pub net to the old church in Great Kimble and also has a good reputation for doing good pub food. They also are one of the few pubs in the area that does have free wireless Internet access in the bar, although you do have to ask for a code at the bar before you can gain access. Situated on the premises there is a beer garden, which is a great place to sit and relax with a refreshing drink or a tasty meal during the summer months, this is also a fantastic place to accommodate all those customers that smoke.
