It is thought that there was a house on the site of the pub before 1789 and we know that one John Parr had owned it. We believe that we have achieved in our attempts to restore the Black Horse to an award-winning establishment. Our objective was to be a pub that people return to time and time again. We pride ourselves on our excellent food; our head chef has a long distinctive career culminating in the position of Executive chef status. We aim to use local produce wherever possible and always endeavour to provide dishes that tempt the taste buds! We firmly believe that our menus have the diversity to appeal to all. Our staff are efficient a major factor in any business but more importantly they are friendly and approachable “making time for chat” with our customers gives us the sociable atmosphere we relish for our pub. However we do ensure that their knowledge of food and wine is at all times proficient to and the options of our clientele. Our facilities include a small intimate eating area, a larger restaurant both giving a warm homely feeling, with beamed ceilings and tasteful décor; A pub area with a well stocked bar and generous amount of seating.
