The George Inn is a charming 17th Century thatched pub and boutique hotel in Barford St Michael, not far from Oxford on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Independently run by Claire Lenkowiec and Valerio Grimaldi-Plant for the owners, The George Inn brings to life the true essence of a country pub, whilst retaining a unique high end standard throughout. Claire holds reign over overall operations, whilst Val focuses on their delicious offering – creating menus inspired by his British and Italian heritage and European travels. Val’s focus is on local, sustainable and, above all, high quality ingredients. From pub classics, to exquisite a la carte and traditional Sunday roasts, there’s something delicious for every taste.
The George offers a range of local ales alongside more familiar brand names and a well-stocked wine cellar. They also have a private room available to book. Their Wine Room features a stunning wine wall encased in glass and home to a unique and well appointed sommeliers collection straight from the owners own wine cellar.
The George seems to be constantly evolving and adapting as the team love a challenge!
Upcoming events involve a monthly pub quiz, their new and popular regional, seasonal taster menu evenings paired with local wines (booking is essential!), next live music night on the 5th June and lots more!
The George Inn also has six well-appointed double bedrooms separate from the main house and three further bedrooms, two doubles and one single, above the bar and dining room.
