Detailed Information

The Wheel Inn has been a public house for well over 200 years. Originally a farmstead and built from local ironstone, it has been sensitively refurbished retaining its old charm as a contemporary country pub and restaurant. For many years we have been serving both classic and modern cookery created from locally sourced ingredients alongside award winning cask ales and fine wines.

The Wheel Inn has undertaken new ownership recently with long term local employee Matthew Marsden purchasing the business. Matthew has continued the reputation for high quality and honest dining, a fantastic cellar and a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Surrounded by unspoilt countryside, The Wheel Inn is a perfect starting point from which to set out on many leisure and sporting pursuits. The Belvoir Estate is renowned for its countryside pursuits and field sports such as shooting, horse riding, hunting and fishing.

National Cycle Route 64 passes through Branston village making up part of a larger route from Market Harborough to Melton Mowbray.

A footpath runs straight through our grounds connecting the beer gardens to walks around the surrounding villages and well known walking routes including The Jubilee Way and Viking Way.

Branston is located approximately eight miles south west of Grantham and eight miles north east of Melton Mowbray which is considered the food capital of the East Midlands and has weekly farmers and antiques markets.
