Detailed Information

Recent licencees have made this a popular pub for real ale fans and indeed for the community also. The offer of food all day to locals and the busy passing trade is also appreciated. A welcoming bar has a real fire in winter and there is a pleasant beer garden for the summer. There is a games room with TV, pool and darts, separate from the main restaurant area. Try to spot the Prince of Wales emblem on the wall. A recent change of management does not appear to have detracted from the forward strides the pub was taking, indeed the beer range has now increased to 4. However the quirky positioning of the piano in the fireplace is now just a memory! (Mar 2016).Pant means ‘hollow’ in Welsh, maybe because it lies directly below the disused mines at Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve. This serves as a reminder that hereabouts. the very penetrable national frontier is close by.!
