The Rose & Crown is a thatched C17th former coaching inn in Longburton. Managed by a Longburton family it aims to be the hub of village life. John and Becky Gibbons took management of the R&C last year to bring the pub back into the community. A butcher by trade, John ensures that there is a special focus on meat, and ensures the menu has the finest cuts of local produce. This does not mean there is a lack of variety, however. Catering to all customers, they have gluten-free and vegetarian options too. The Gibbons family have lived in Longburton for 14 years and with experience in running pubs – Becky managed The Royal Oak at Cerne Abbas before bringing the family to The Rose & Crown. Together with their son, Kai, they have worked to bring the R&C back as a freehouse and supporting local breweries. While the pub is still owned by Hall & Woodhouse, the brewery rents to the Gibbons family.
