Thatched and dating back to the 15th century, The Cleave sits at the heart of the idyllic village of Lustleigh, in the hills of the Dartmoor National Park. We’re easy to find – just one mile off the A382, the main Bovey Tracey to Moretonhampstead road.
The Cleave is a friendly, family-run pub and you’re assured of a warm welcome from Landlord Ben Whitton. Popular with locals, walkers, cyclists and visitors alike, since we took over The Cleave in early 2010, our mix of relaxed dining at affordable prices plus good local beers and unpretentious wines is going down very well!
We have a lovely cottage garden for the warm days and a traditional snug bar – complete with beams, granite and a log fire – for the chillier ones. The rear of The Cleave, formerly the old station waiting room, has been refurbished to give a light and airy bistro atmosphere with access to outdoor dining in the rear garden.
We make good use of this modern open area and show films and concerts on our big screen as well as holding Wii nights. Very much part of the community in Lustleigh we also host regular quiz nights, live music and comedy acts.
We have free WIFI throughout the pub and this, combined with the big screen and projector, makes the rear bar a great venue for functions and seminars.
