Located in Cleadon Village not far from the village duck pond, the Cottage Tavern is a busy and popular local. It has an open plan layout and is traditionally decorated. There are 3 handpulls ; Black Sheep Bitter, a guest ale and Rosies Cider. Food is limited to bar snacks and toasted sandwiches. Two quizzes are held each week ( Mondays and Thursdays) and there is live music on Sunday nights. Regular buses to South Shields, Sunderland and Boldon stop nearby. There is a large car park on the other side of the main road.
