One of only two Goachers tied houses, the Rifle
is a Victorian stone built single bar pub a short walk away from the town centre,
It has been recognised by CAMRA for its unspoiled interior. No machines ensure
that it is a place for conversation or quiet drink. A popular fun quiz, open to
all is held on alternate Tuesdays, with a local winter quiz league operating in
other weeks. Cider and perry are also served. Snacks can be made to order. In
2016 it was awarded CAMRA Kent regional Pub of the Year.
