The Travellers Rest is a local community pub, situated in the lovely town of Swadlincote, Derbyshire. They serve a full selection of draught beers, wines and spirits for your enjoyment. The pubs great atmosphere and warm and friendly welcome makes it a fantastic place for everyone to be. We are a very family orientated pub we host a load of charity and fund raising events for all the family to enjoy. 9th of August is the Fishing match we host this event every year, this year our charity is the St Giles Hospice, Witington and we are hoping to raise over 6,000 GBP. It is a 12 hour fishing marathon and we already have over 25 fishermen, and we are hoping more will join as anyone can enter. We also hold themed nights where all the staff come to work dressed up and anyone of customers who want to dress up can, its all for charity. Santa Clause also takes a visit to the pub at Christmas, we have a brilliant party for the children and the elderly while Santa brings them all presents and he then takes a break from his busy schedule and has a nice Mince Pie and a drop of Cherry! Christmas day lunch and Christmas parties can all be catered for. Monday nights are also Bingo nights for the ladies, Tuesday nights are darts and dominions matches for the men. We also have a fantastic Golf Club where anyone can join so come along and give it a try. To accommodate all customers who smoke, there is now a heated smoking shelter on the premises, along with a beer garden, which is a fabulous place to relax with a refreshing drink, while the children play happily in the childrenâ€™s play area. With disabled facilities and car park situated on the grounds of the pub we tend to the needs of all our customers. There is an extensive home cooked menu served throughout the pubs premises, so customers will never go hungry.
